With the holidays upon us, everyone is busy scrambling for those special gifts for their loved ones or for their children’s gift exchange or office exchange, etc, etc, etc,. I assume you get the point! With all the hustle and bustle in the air, I’ve come to realize (as i do each year) that there’s a specific group of people shopping with a different intent…you guessed it…THEFT! With theft on the rise the closer we get to Christmas (and I see it on the news everyday), many of these thieves are looking for new ways to get their dirty hands on some good stuff. So being that security levels are up in your general shopping areas, they are hitting up warehouses that house the many items awaiting shipping and delivery to these popular stores we shop at.
After speaking with the Comptroller of a local forwarding company that has huge warehouses that temporarily house many items for shipping, my particular favorite…beanies…, they came to the conclusion that they had to upgrade their possibly outdated alarm system and went on a quest to search for the best alarm companies in the Rio Grande Valley , and what they found simply surprised them.
To their surprise, it wasn’t a huge national company that drew their attention, but rather, a locally owned company out of Harlingen Texas with so many great reviews from their many loyal customers, Texas State Alarm.
Texas State Alarm specializes in modern yet effective interactive security systems and high tech surveillance that most other companies don’t carry for whatever reason. You would think that with the terms interactive and high tech, you’d be looking at a hefty price for a new security system, but I was informed that the cost of this new technology was about the same as this forwarding company was paying before.
Now, not only have they upgraded their systems, but they have now gone wireless meaning that there are no phone lines to cut (traditional alarms ran their signals through phone lines) and there are systems that can be controlled by your favorite smart phone, tablet, or computer. Even their security cameras now come with night vision and motion activated detection systems so you only record for a small window vs 24/7 recording which took up a lot of space on your recording device.
So I believe it’s safe to say that Texas State Alarm has them properly covered.
It was unfortunate that this forwarding company was hit recently but at the same time, with the help of on-site security acquired for the holidays, these thieves were scared off. Our beanies are safe for now but as always, these pesky thieves will always look for ways to not only cause damage but to help drive the cost of goods by stealing for their own personal gains. Thankfully with companies like Texas State Alarm leading the way, we can still feel rest assured that our homes and businesses can still be protected properly and that they are making advancements in technology to stay one step ahead of criminals in general.
Our beanies are safe for the time being, but when these unwanted criminals will make another attempt at getting their dirty hands on our beloved beanies, we will never know.
Be safe, Merry Christmas, and Have a Happy New Year!
